![]() Robert Holden introduced me to the notion of there being a world of difference between the 'pursuit of happiness' and 'following your joy'. In the show I talk about Robert's work, the purpose of happiness, limits we place on our happiness and how and why we learned to be unhappy. I read from Michael Neill's Feel Happy Now, and Barry Neil Kaufmans' To Love is To Be Happy With'. Suggested exercise for this week: Take your happiness temperature. How happy are you on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being unreasonably joyous)? Find a moment or two during the week when you consciously and deliberately raise your Happiness Thermometer just a bit. You don't have to aim for the moon! And you don't need a reason. Notice what it takes to do deliberately raise your level. Want more ways to explore happiness? Here's a few more exercises to open the mind and heart If you want to talk more about how to be happier, let me know! Mindfulness in Times of Crisis and Change 09/18/2009
